SBtab is a flexible table format developed for Systems Biology data. The project's roots stem from my background in academia, namely working at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and for the Charité Berlin. I not only developed the format itself, but also implemented software tools (such as a detailed file format validator, format conversion tools, and data integration tools) and the corresponding web interface. Although my academic work is in a hiatus, I still work on these projects with my colleagues from the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in Paris, France. (Please ignore the fact that this project is not as visually impeccable as my other projects. In academia, people care about functionality first and there's usually no budget to hire design agencies just for good looks).
