Citizens' Climate Lobby
The new web presence for the German Citizens' Climate Lobby is nothing short but a heart project for me. This non-profit citizens' group is regularly meeting politicians from all parties to talk to them about introducing an efficient carbon tax. That in itself is nothing new... but the CCL endorses a so-called climate dividend. This means that the money earned by the carbon tax should be distributed to all citizens as fixed amount. This approach has been successfully implemented in several countries around the world and Germany should be next. All further information can be found on the new website for the CCL Germany. But apart from the political message, this is also a very pretty and capable Website. I implemented the blog with a self-programmed CMS employing the Wagtail plugin for Pythons Django. There are numerous FAQ and proposed solutions to climate-related issues. Also, you can calculate your carbon footprint with a Javascript tool and find out what a carbon tax with a climate dividend might mean for your individual life. And there is so much more to browse on this content-filled web presence. Feel free to have a look!
